The makers behind the British Jersey
At the heart of British Jersey is a quiet partnership: Roy, a knit-machine specialist, and Helen, a garment maker.
Based in Loughborough - for over 40 years, they’ve been keeping alive the craft of real rugby jerseys - structured but slouchy, breathable yet strong.
Originally known for supplying jerseys to British schools, Roy and Helen stayed committed to small-batch British production, even as others moved overseas.
Every part of the design is chosen to feel like a proper jersey should — weighty loopback cotton, knitted by Roy’s friend just down the road, cut and sewn by hand in their workshop. The process is slow, deliberate, and quietly exceptional.
A jersey made properly — for now, and for the years ahead.
